Maine is on my bucket list. I have traveled almost all of the United States but the upper east coast including the original 13 colonies remain on the yet to be explored list. But one day I am sure I will get there. In the mean time, I have found an amazing blog that will have to suffice. For now.

I live next door to Maine along the US-Canada border. Main attractions there are the scenery like Acadia Park, the forests, Bar Harbor, blueberries, lobsters and LL Bean. Portland and Bangor are 2 cities with known shopping outlets as well.

Airfare is cheaper during the cold months(if you’re up for snow) or the cooler months of autumn where the colorful leaves come out. You can always call up the Maine Tourism Board and they ‘ll send you a tourist catalog so you can get an idea of the place. Maine looks so much like in my current Canadian provincial home..

I went to Maine for the first time last year and I have never fallen in love with a place as quickly as I did with Maine. It’s so different than my home in Florida but I am saving to hopefully one day move to Maine.
It is absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks so much for the reblog – I agree it’s an amazingly beautiful place. Not for those who, like me, abhor the cold. But you cannot beat Maine in the summer!
