Are you suffering from CHAOS? Can’t have anyone over Syndrome.

Is it because you can’t find you dining room table? You know there is one under there but it currently is covered with mail, school art projects, work, magazines and well just clutter.

Maybe it’s because your living room resembles a toy store or a that the mail room exploded? It’s been so long since you saw the floor that you don’t remember if there is an area rug down there?

Are your in-laws coming for the holidays and you don’t have a room for them to stay in or maybe you do have a guest room but the bed is buried under laundry?  You can be organized and you can contain your clutter.

I have discussed laundry before. If you want to review it here is the link.  Air your dirty laundry here….

Basically, I suggest you fold and hang your clothing as you remove it from the drier. That way you are not temped to toss it on the bed, couch or dryer, but you will put it where it belongs. Added bonus. Your clothes will not be as wrinkled if you immediately hang them up. Yet another time saver, you’re welcome!

If this sounds or looks like your home and you feel overwhelmed by your clutter don’t give up,  it can be fixed.  You can bee organized.

Let’s start with some organizing tips for public spaces in your home.

If you have toys that have invaded your living room, think about an ottoman that has storage. You can also  utilize storage cubes, decorative boxes and baskets to contain the toys, if you insist on having them there. I recommend you limit the number of toys allowed in the living room.

A better solution is to have your children return their toys to their room or their playroom when they are finished playing with them. I try this with the dogs, but they don’t mind very well. I did have a dog who when we said it was time to go to bed she picked up her toys and carried them one at a time in her mouth and dropping them in a basket in her room. When she was done she would get into her bed. So smart. The ones we now share our home with are really cute. But they can’t seem to get with the program ……LOL.

Another great way to keep your public spaces company ready is to use “Crap baskets” or buckets. A “Crap basket” is where you have a basket for each member of the family and if you see their stuff a/k/a, “crap” out of place you toss it into the “crap basket” they can then take their basket to their room and put it in they proper place. A Mom that I worked with decided that if she had to put stuff in the “crap basket” more than two times the stuff in the basket was not important to that family member and so they lost it temporarily. If it landed back in the “crap basket” a third time it was donated to another family. I think it was very effective way to get the family in the habit of putting their stuff where it belongs.

Let me know how you conquered your CHAOS and did you take back your public spaces in your house. Just in time for the holidays.

Do you think a Crap basket would work at your house?  Are you suffering from CHAOS?

Thanks Pamela

So do you have an old lamp that does not work with your decor? Donate it or recycle it.  You can paint the base change the shade and you have a recycled lamp. All over Pinterest there are amazing ideas to transform something into something else.  For example you can convert old pallets into outdoor furniture or wine bottles into everything from candleholders to bird feeders.

The entire point it to keep it out of the trash.

Is your church or shelter having a rummage sale this is a great time to give them all the stuff you don’t use, want or need.  Let your cast off’s help someone else.  You will feel better when you let that stuff go anyway.

Will you recycle something this week?

Is you exercise or sporting equipment just gathering dust?

So it’s now deep into fall. Some of you made new years resolutions to get fit. Some of you have lots of exercise equipment that you are using as a coat rack or a hall tree. News flash that is not the intended by Scott Webb-1434656742621-5c4a7d73d0e7

How about you weekend warriors who have not played ball in many, many moons? Did you think you would be the next Tiger Woods but then you found out that Golf is a 5-hour round and you only have 3 hours to spare? So, those golf clubs are just sitting in the closet or garage gathering cobwebs.

Fishing? Really when did you go last? Maybe bowling or tennis is what was to be your game. Now you have tennis elbow and can’t play or roll the ball down the lane. If you are not going to use these things you need to let them go.

Sell them, donate them or give them away…You can use that space for your new hobby……………What is your new hobby? Have you been eyeing a new Harley or a Dune buggy? Maybe it’s now yoga or Tai Chi?yoga-photo-1470919543690-22e21c13163d

Let go of the stuff the clutter in your home and make room for the new. (Not new clutter.) You can get organized and I am here to help.

Hello,  Anyone who has been here before knows that I am all about controlling your chaos,  organizing your life and corralling your clutter.  Clutter is a time thief.  If you can’t find what you need you spend valuable time searching.  You look under the bed, in the car or between the couch cushions.  Sometimes you give up and buy a new what ever was lost.  That is a budget buster.  You know you bought the funniest birthday card for your sister months ago now her birthday is in a week and you can’t find it..What do you do?  You know what you are going to do.  You buy a new card.  Then the week after her birthday you find the first one.  But you can’t send it to anyone else because it says To my Sister for her 30th Birthday…. ARGH!!

You know you need to put some order in your life.  But you are overwhelmed?  Where to start?  I am here to help.  You can look back at some of my prior posts to give you an idea.

It does not matter where you start.  The first step is to begin.   The thing that you lose all the time is a good place to start.  If that is keys.  Determine a set place for them.  Put them there every single time.  Without fail.

If it is that your kids can’t seem to get their school stuff together in the morning before school.  You have a nightmarish morning trying to like trying to herd cats.    Set up a system.  Backpacks in a designated spot, homework checked before they go to bed, determine what everyone is wearing the night before and you will eliminate much of the morning chaos.  You might actually enjoy breakfast with your kids.wp-1474664786272.jpg

Maybe you plan on making dinner but what to make?  What do you have?  What do you need?  Organize your pantry.  That way you will know what you have and if you keep a running shopping list you will not run out of ketchup, butter or sugar.  When you open the last of something put it on the shopping list.  If you keep this list on your cell phone it will always be with you.  You can then make a plan the night before as to what you are making for dinner. You will know what you have and what you need to get.

You can get organized.  I am here to help you bring order to your life.  Where do you find are your biggest clutter areas?  What do you frequently lose?

Thanks Pamela!

Found Money ~ Is it free money?- Leftover Change

Did you know that American’s have on average $90 in loose change.

spare making-change.jpg

SO how many of you have a change jar, mug or bowl? I know some of you have spare change in multiple places..

Do you have any change in the laundry room from when you are emptying pockets, or that you found in the washer or dryer. Remember, finders keepers!

How about in a closet then you empty you pockets? Or in the bottom of your handbags, are you guilty or just taking out the “stuff you need” and leaving the rest?

Look in your old wallets and don’t forget to check all your coats too.

Do you have spare change in a drawer maybe from the change you get from when you have pizza delivered? What about your desk drawer? How about those greeting cards did you forget that you have $5 dollars from your Aunt Dolly? What about your kids toy boxes? (I am not suggesting you raid you kid’s piggy banks.)

Are you hoarding rolls of coins in a box in a closet or under your bed?

Could there be spare change in your car, under the seats, in the ashtray, deep in the center console or the cup holders that have a few grimy coins that are covered in soda syrup?  Sometimes there is a stash of spare change in the garage from when you cleaned out the car.

Oh just in case you thought I might forget ~ check those cushions in your furniture.

So if you take this opportunity to gather all those coins you might find that you have some unexpected fun money. Possibly you have lots of spare change just gathering dust. Wouldn’t it be fun to find out how much you can find?

Most banks will take your change and count it for you. They will then just add it to your account for no fee. Many other places there are coin machines that will cash in your coins on the spot.

See organizing can be fun and profitable.  Well maybe ~  it’s almost like free money. Not really more like forgotten money, but what are you waiting for. Round up those coins! I can’t wait to hear about your discover. What will you do with your spare change? Tell me where you found your spare change.bee_organizedwithpamela-jpg
