Baby Essentials: The Changing Station

Look I’ll be the first one to admit Baby Essentials has changed a bunch since I last changed a diaper.  So I am re-blogging an expert.  Molly is a first time Mom and she writes SpeechBaby.   Enjoy and you know I love your comments.


Babies spend a significant amount of time at their changing stations. It’s important for this area to be comfortable and well stocked to be a pleasurable experience for baby. And, if baby is happy, everybody is happy! I’ve put together a list of changing station essentials that have helped me survive my first year as a mom and helped to keep baby so fresh and so clean.   • Changing pad– I purchased an inexpensive changing pad based on it’s good reviews and sent it back, it was very thin and flimsy, I went with the Colgate Memory Foam 3 Sided Contour Changing Pad, it’s nice and comfy, I found it at BuyBuy Baby. Recommend memory foam if you can find one. Baby spends tons of time here!
  • Changing pad covers– go for soft and comfy, recommend at least 3 of these

  1. Lordie! If I knew that I would have to have so many things before having a baby I never would have had them. I changed the kids on whatever was handy..once on top of an electric stove (yes it was turned off at the time) Thank goodness my kids were born during the dark ages!
