Unrealistic Expectations and Getting Organized

Did you spend part of your weekend on Pinterest? Many of us see these perfect spaces on Pinterest or in magazines and we feel guilty that our homes, even at their best, have never looked that nice.

Guess what?

If you have kids or pets, you’re not going to have a home that looks like Martha Stewart’s. My mantra is I’m not Martha!

It’s ok. Get over it. Really it is.

You aren’t going for perfection; you’re going for function and less chaos. Life happens!

No one lives in a magazine photo layout or a showroom, so that’s not an excuse for not getting started.

A famous saying is: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” – Lao Tzu

Are you ready to start your journey to an organized home or office? You can do it.

A few days ago I took the first step. I started this blog with the purpose of sharing tips with you. Follow me here and I will continue to share small things to start the journey. Little steps.

I am here to help you Bee Organized.

I am from Oklahoma. Now living the dream in Arizona. I'm a sassy, creative and outspoken southern gal. I believe that if you can read you can go anywhere. One of my favorite sayings is "If you knew you could not fail what would you do?" I enjoy helping other people. My friends know that I’m the queen of useless trivial knowledge and I will not hesitate to use it.

  1. So very true, and a fact I know all too well considering that I have four pets! I’ve come to accept that there will be pet hair on something or other in the house at all times, unless I win the lotto and have enough money to hire a live in maid, haha!

  2. I don’t have kids, but I have a cat, does that apply to your thoughts about organization? 😉

Really, I’d really do with some organisation in my life. I feel like my life is all over the place and I never find a way to take it on track, as hard as I try.
A house, a (extended) family, a day job, a dream to become an author… seems to be too much.
But I do think like you: looking at the whole picture is scary, but taking a step at a time is fare more manageable. I’ll stick to it 😉

    1. Jazzfeathers I completely understand. Kids, cats, dogs, spouses…. all come with stuff. Stuff can equal clutter. Don’t feel overwhelmed. Start in one area. It’s like eating an elephant. You do it one bite at a time. (Not that I am advocating eating elephants.) Keep reading. I will work on a pet post. Thanks for reading and you can do it.
